Sportsbook in Portland Denied License Appeal by Maine Gambling Control Unit

Milton Champion, the regulatory boss, explained that current laws only permit sports betting at licensed commercial track facilities in Maine. This means Oddfellahs Sportsbook is not only missing out on the Super Bowl betting frenzy but also leaving bettors with unresolved wagers.

The owner of Oddfellahs, Mike Cianchette, is optimistic that the sportsbook will be allowed to resume operations soon. He emphasized the importance of honoring bets placed by customers before the license issues on January 17 and 29.
