The American Gaming Association (AGA) recently released its latest Commercial Gaming Revenue Tracker report, revealing a significant milestone for the US gambling industry. Record Revenue Achieved in 2024

Brick-and-mortar casinos also reported record-breaking revenue of $49.78 billion for the year, reflecting an 82 basis points increase compared to 2023. Twelve states with commercial casinos achieved new yearly revenue records, with six of the top 20 gaming markets seeing growth.

American sports betting reached an all-time high revenue of $13.71 billion in 2024, a 25.4% surge from the previous year. Notably, New Jersey and Illinois exceeded $1 billion in annual betting revenue, indicating the popularity of sports betting in these states.

AGA’s President and CEO, Bill Miller, emphasized the industry’s positive impact on American communities. He stated that the growth in legal gaming options benefits consumers, operators, and communities, driving job creation, investment, and economic growth.

In terms of economic contributions, the AGA highlighted that the commercial gaming industry paid more in taxes to state and local governments in 2024 than ever before. Operators’ total tax contribution amounted to an estimated $15.66 billion, reflecting the industry’s significant financial support to the government.
